chinese new year would have been a blast if i didn't have to book in on the 2nd day. but let's not whine and mope shall we? there's more to life to enjoy than complain about the sickening national service and it's hindrance in our lives. didn't manage to take as much photos with my relatives as i wanted. also, didn't get a chance to meet up with friends. but oh well, spending some time with my family for the time being is good enough. the picture will prove it.  paternal side cousins (brother working) there will be a complete picture next year when i fucking have no more bmt, have more time, have more hair and when i finally turn 21. so look out for 2010, yo! manddaw

one thing to add... tekong is a good place for star-gazing. the lack of lights coupled with the multitude of trees and forest plantation make the night a place absolutely suitable. haha, i saw orion's belt five times each night, along with the gazillion stars up in the sky. at many points in those five days, i kept looking at the stars to remind me not to give up at any point in time. so yea, i'm glad that i finally completed field camp, endured six days and five nights of tekan, sleepless nights and blisters. the chinese new year break plus the numerous hongbaos can be considered to be the highlight/reward for a good work put in. sorry for not wishing sabrina, jingjing and nurbaya on their awesome turning 20. as big as it is, ns had to make me go thru field camp, depriving me of m  y own birthday celebration as well as my friends. but oh well...Happy 20th Birthday girls!!! for now, i'm coughing like mad and nose dripping constantly. hoping to recover soon so that training won't be too tiring. with all the cough, it is becoming so annoying. my throat itches all the time. with God's healing hands, i will get better. i'm missing life outside as a civilian. all the free time and social butterfly sessions. but oh well, another one more month at tekong. =) wonder what's waiting for me after 11 march. hopefully i get to where i want to be. as for now, i'll go catch up on some sleep and family time. till then, good night. manddaw

booking out is and will always put a smile on my face. that's because there won't be reveille, lights out, stand by areas and other time limits imposed. but heck, there's still lots of time in camp to suffer. haha. although turning 20 was not much of an affair since army had to be a jerk and take it away from me, but i had a birthday celebration all the same. my fantastically awesome platoon mates initially wanted to do all sorts of crazy stuff like blanket party and all, but well... nothing of that happened. fortunately for me. yet, i had to perform (which i eventually sang "you raise me up" as a dedication to all my platoon mates and commanders) and do push-ups as the birthday boy. but united as a platoon, my dear mates did it with me. yep, it was fun i must say. anyway, it is a mood dampener that i will turn 20 in bloody pulau tekong. oh well, i hope the big 21 will be a blast. in the midst of planning it already. the venue, the people, the wishlist. will reveal it in the course of year 2009. but whatever it is, i'm staying strong. i won't be miserable or upset. or rather, i'll try not to. no doubt, it's the start of the big 20s, but i'll have many more chances along the way to experience what it feels like being 20. =) lunch date with zul and izzati was fabulous. met at downtown east/ehub for "twilight" which seriously kept me on the edge of my seat. i loved the visual effects of the show and the other-worldly feel of it. the scenic views from the coniferous treetops, the bizarre location and architecture of the cullen's household and most of all, the vampiric beings themselves - the cullens. the cast of the movie with equally young and nubile young stars which made the i am so thrilled with the movie, i think i shall... 1) read the book when time permits. 2) get the remaining books from the series. 3) remember to buy the dvd when it comes out. and whilst i spend my remaining time outside, i shall just listen to some music to soothe my aching heart. haha. the next time i book out, i'll be 20 already. wow. how old and miserable i'll be. haha. thank you for all the birthday wishes in advance. =) i'll do up another post when i book out. till then, God bless.
