just came back from anisa's house. her house is nice and relatively huge. spacious and comfortable. met the rest of the grp at 2 sth. i was late cos the bus driver wasn't in a hurry and he drove at a tortoise's pace. anisa's mum was so nice to drive us all from the mrt to her place. oh, she has a private underground carpark. how cool! her front porch was the playground *grin* and the best thing was she had a clubhouse! rich kid on the block! anyway. ate spaghetti at her house. her mother cooked it like my mother did, juicy and mouth-watering. after that headed to the clubhouse to study. at first, very quiet. did homework, discussed chemistry and maths. but soon after... chaos and boredom set in. started slacking. we did many crazy things like trying to reach for the drinks in the room which was locked. managed to get 3 packets. then ate chips and drank lychee and lemon barley. well... i dunno why today very lazy to blog but well, slacked. we made a mess out of the place. heehee. instead of concentrating fully, we ate chips, drank soft drinks, talked... etc. not very ideal behaviour for students who are having mid-years next week though. then after we finished studying, went back to anisa's place. played on the playground... haha. lame lah. a bunch of sec 4s relieving stress i suppose. poor christine fell off the see-saw. haha... so comical! had a rest with ice cream and chocolate. watched tv till 6 plus before we finally left her place. saw zeyu on bus 14. same face. same hairstyle. still as friendly. said hi. said bye. lame. andrew yee fell down yesterday and had to be admitted to hospital. hope he is better cos i dun want any of my godbrothers to fall down or be sick. anyway, will go call andrew yee later. meanwhile... take care peeps. i better go rest and study. seacrest out! manddaw

firstly, i have to wish drama club all the best for the release of the results tmr. hope you all get gold. this applies only to shuuji, andrea, shokmei, xinyi, pearlene, carl... etc. pls make it a triple glory for the school. the past few days have been hectic. tests every single day. and i haven really started on my revision for the mid year examinations which is just next week. hence, this will be my last post (hopefully) before the mid-years. went home with 'bytamins' just now and stanley. did lots of crazy stuffs on the bus. took pictures. made lots of noise. talked about 'coffee' and how nice it is. truly, i think 'coffee' is nice in many aspects. we can savour the goodness of it. haha. i am really being so lame here. fine... i rather let shuuji do the explanation. stressed out from school. too much hw and tests. logging off soon. ![]() presenting 'bytamins' will also put up a picture of my godbrother who ran during sports day... ![]() zhang wenkai haha... enjoy! ciao! manddaw

yesterday's band celebration barbeque was fine. started at 6... well, it was memorable in some way. the sec 4s were slaves to the juniors. cooked food for them... served them. everytime i see my juniors these days, i find the huge difference between my batch and the juniors. when we were juniors, we did not dare talk back to the seniors. i was so scared of them cos we had to respect them. they were the superiors and should we talk back, we would surely get punished. however, the sec 3s can even ask u to do things yourself. i wish i wasn't their senior. it hurts really bad! i hope they get a taste of all the clarinet alumni's superiority. then they will wake up! anyway, shuuji said my juniors were cocky when tkg did not win gold with honours. my juniors have prided themselves in being the best. Tk Band. The Best Band In The Land. i am sure my fame-thirsty juniors would grab every single opportunity to boast. tkg did their best i must say. it was indeed unexpected to know that they did not get gold with honours. especially since we were once a single band. united. but i guess they chose to be a symphonic band for a certain reason. we should just compliment each other's strength. since tk band is best in outdoor, they should just support us. and since they are one of the top indoor bands, tk band should be happy for them and not be glad that they did not get gold with honours. i do feel my juniors are just immature. whatever... i dunno why i am talking crap here. their band is unique in their own way. for me, i would rather do formations and play on the field. indoor for me is just a relaxation. as i said. tk band is a display band. we should degrade our status to an outdoor or marching band. a display band and marching band is two different things. a display band is a notch higher because we have to play music while marching into formations. whereas a marching band has to only march around. anyway, we are going to step down soon. i may probably join the concert this year. :) k back to the celebrations. the sec 4s took turns to barbeque the food. quite fun hanging out together. sat with yuhanis, hidayah, wenkai, weiming etc for dinner. after that we had some walk around the school. in the dark that is. not going to elaborate cos it was lame. then as usual at every celebration the band would dance to "i will survive". then after a long time, we finally could go home. went home with wenkai, weming and johnathan. went home zzzzzzz. today had band again... tests and lessons. sigh. sian! ate the cake given by mrs chan. it read "SYF'05 Gold. Bravo" thank you mrs chan. yuhanis lost her wallet. so sorry! had to check the whole band to see who was the culprit! they were lined up under the hot sun at the assembly plaza. and chia asked hidayah and me to check. seriously, i dunno who is the thief but i think he has guts. why can't that person just be contented with what he has? why must he steal and be a coward not to admit. sigh... i dun want to brood over it! talked to christine just now while on the way home. haha... very fun topics! i showed her the place where her ice lemon tea lived... then she was stalking him. *aiyo... how can* haha! i love my friends cos they bring me laughter especially desperate people like shuuji & christine! ![]() my classmates from 4f'05 should i go sleep? i think i will... seacrest out! manddaw

chung cheng high (main) got gold for the competition. well done! my cousin called me and told me. so the news is hot off the oven. anyway, they deserved it! yuhua got gold too for their firestorm, while tkg got gold for praise jerusalem. that's all i know... anyway, mrs chan announced to the school about our results. however, none of the sec 4s were jubilant about it. haha. husna showed a stone face. i just looked down at the ground. all facade lah... cos beneath that sad exterior is a overjoyed soul screaming for joy. she said we were versatile and ought to be respected in every way. haha... tk band rocks to the core! anyway. had poon's lesson just now. did an essay about the loneliness of man. she said i should paragraph it more. lazy to blog already... yak another time. ciao! manddaw

the indoor competition was in some way a disappointment as well as a success. when i woke up on 12 april at 5.30am, i had this feeling that gold was attainable. however, i did not know that we would really only get a gold. sigh. we tuned our instruments like crazy in school... played parts of singapore rhapsody and firestorm. then we left school. the pure science students were held up for their add maths lecture becos of us. so i saw shuuji, stanley & chalit. shuuji wished me... only me! haha. cool! anyway, zhihan & huisian came down to see us. upon reaching singapore conference hall, saw several bands there already. so we went to the tuning room... had 10 mins to tune again. when it was our turn, i suddenly had the jitters. played our two pieces which did not really impress the judges. my instrument squeaked a few times at the most exposed parts which was so embarassing. the results weren't what we expected and the lady who announced the results just received total silence from tk band. band no. 37 tanjong katong secondary school... gold. if there wasn't a 'gold with honours', i would definitely be overjoyed. however, we only got a gold. it was depressing. of the 3 gold bands there, tk band did not even scream when the lady announced that we got a gold. the expectations of the band was very high, especially the sec 4s. the panel of ajudicators also raised the standards of the competition from day 1. it left me thinking... how can the first day have so many bands getting 'gold with honours' and on the second day NONE! it does not make any sense at all... so unfair! talking about it just makes me wanna go for the competition again just to win the highest order award. haha. but well, at least we still got a gold. hafizaa was there. annabel jie was there. andrew kor & khayriyyah was there too... supporting us. it was heartening to see them there. lots of alumni were there too like zeyu, terence chow, weiee etc. my handphone was also full of incoming messages from wileen, shazana, sally anxious to know the results. i remember two years ago in 2003, when we won the gold after playing noah's ark... the whole band screamed. that time we did not have much worries cos we were still juniors. however, being a sec 4 is definitely not easy. u have every single person on your heels chasing u to improve the standards of the section. i miss noah's ark. back at school, mdm nora gave her very encouraging speech. mr chia was elated with the results along with yew meng, mrs chan & mrs lee. if u went ard, most of the sec 4s were clearly disappointed. wenkai, weiming, fiona, junhui, yuhanis, hidayah, kenneth all had downcast faces. i know wenkai was really upset... nevermind bro, me too! but well, we are the golden batch as romario said. the only batch in years to participate in all 4 years of the competition and win every single on of them. cool rite! k, i dun feel that upset now... cos tk band is the best band in the land. haha... i can finally set my mind at ease and step down. 2002. best display band of the year 2003. gold for central judging of concert bands 2004. best display band of the year 2005. gold for central judging of concert bands the section went to bugis for their celebration while beatrice, christine and me went out with sally, anisa & zukai to parkway for lunch at KFC. talked about the competition and drowned our sorrows with food. being with my friends really perked me up. so dun worry peeps, i am back to my normal self i hope. if i am still not in the right frame of mind, just give me a few more days. should be fine after that. walked around a bit till 4 plus then came home. going to start studying... ciao! manddaw

the SYF is coming up in a few days time. can't wait to end everything and get on with my studies. as u know, TJC principal gave her most inspiring talk which as mentioned by shuuji, sally, anisa has left many people motivated. i will not deny that i want to get into TJC so badly but i may not be in singapore after 'O' levels. may probably be going to australia to study. i am in a dilemma now and i can't get out of it. i desperately want to do well but the school isn't giving us any chance. SYF is just three weeks from the mid year. where is our time to study? i haven even started on the most basic revision yet... talk about being prepared! imagine... three weeks to the big exams and you are not even prepared... why should u even be going for the damn CCAs? they are just a complete waste of ur time and u have to see chia peng sheng's face which is so upsetting. everytime i look at me, i get turned off. i really do! also, we play firestorm thousands of times and we still aren't near a gold standard. truthfully, i dunno whether we can even get a gold. no doubt, we are at the peak of the silver standard, but we are struggling to reach for a gold. how pathetic...! everywhere i go, i keep thinking of band. that is a nightmare... cos i dun want to think about band! i am on the brink of insanity! so as i was saying... the competition is in three days time. let's not talk about it cos it gives me the jitters as well as getting me all upset! shuuji is going to TJC. samantha is going to TJC. sigh... wish u all the best. under pressure, i work like mad. without pressure, i study like crazy too. in conclusion, i am a sadistic workaholic. i will work myself till i fall sick! looking at all the competition for TJC, i seriously hope i get a single digit for 'O' levels. well, must get started. i hope sally, christine and anisa have started with theirs already. dun have to worry for shuuji though. he is a born genius. even without studying, he is getting As. hmm, i feel so motivated when i am with shuuji or andrew... i hope all their mugging rubs off on me. maybe i should adopt the "big then small" mindset of the TJC principal. only my close friends will know what i mean. not going to elaborate. i shall just conclude here. nth much to comment on. ciao. i miss my godbrothers and valerie. manddaw
