wad a week it has been. i must say i'm glad the weekends are here but at the same time, apprehensive of the deadly approaching march block tests. screw it. i'm still at stage 0 of my revision. i need some motivation to start. chelsea ng. you promised ah... if i call you out to sit 5 hours with me to study, you cannot say no. understand???
haha.
so yes. my week has been absolutely fun. been so busy that today would be the only time i have to actually blog of which the next blog post will be a time in the near uncertain future.
celebrated my mum's 55th birthday at novotel hotel's lounge where my whole family had buffet. besides indulging in sashimi, SALMON, fresh scallops, pasta... we tasted the variety of cheese they had to offer from blue cheese to some with herbs and the cheese with holes (mouse-cheese i call it). not to forget that delicious tasting chocolate cake they kept refilling from the kitchen. it tasted exactly like the chocolate cake from awfully chocolate. tantalising! i should have taken a picture of the chocolate fondue. the constantly flowing volume of hot chocolate. but oh well, only had a stick of chocolate marshmallows. =) it made my night though. haha.

my family.

we love keziah!

my dearest siblings from the oldest to the youngest... darren, jasmine and james.
oh. forgot to mention. i had a great time talking to the clarinetist/saxophonist who was playing in a live band and i asked for song dedications of "when i fall in love" and "fly me to the moon". and he just played it perfectly and with a tone i earnestly yearn to have. i need to practice. someone buy me a clarinet?
besides a wonderful time spent with my family, i also had the priviledge of attending... elysium concert 2008 of which there can only be one word to sum it up... breath-taking. it would probably have been my first dance concert of which i'm glad i went cause of the 18 spectacular dances that were staged by the various groups of people. kudos to michelle, beverly, kathleen, yeongchyun and other dancers for a night of aesthetic enjoyment. =)

lilian and emily.

haha. my concert companion. thank you.

i miss you SO MUCH! love.

romario lim... i'm just amazed that we've known each other since primary school and studied in the same institution all these years. thanks for everything!

me, oliver, beverly, yimchew and constance.
ok... finally, without a doubt... one of the most talented male dancers i've met.

yeong chyun (huiqi's baba friend... haha.)
so it's a good night for now and a happy leap year! i'm so going to get my hands on that movie - the leap years. hopefully i get to watch it with the bandits. CHELSEA NG! see you tmr ba po. =)

first things first...
CONGRATULATIONS to Singapore for winning the bid to host the Youth Olympics for 2010.
it was euphoria all round the rooptop just now when hazel announced it. =) hmmm, i'll be in army still in 2010. oh well. glad Singapore will be able to host something so prestigious. i presume ministers like Mr Teo Ser Luck, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and Lee Hsieng Loong are enjoying the fruits of their labour.
on a higher note, soiree was fun! i'm glad i went for it despite the many decisions to just skip it. the numerous performances and time away from the books just made the night go so well. congrats to charlotte, lilian and chengying for that splendid rendition of teardrops on my guitar. i kind of liked it. and to butterfly and the others, good job!

the friends who make life colourful.

emily, lilian, chengying and i at soiree 2008
all in all, it was a insane night.

a warning.
NEVER ever play mahjong with angela, jingjing, baya, chelsea and bryan. they are absolutely nonsense i tell you!!! i think i just laughed myself red just now seeing them do hilarious stuff at the table. it was akin to laughing like a blardy hyena.
for example, angela mistaking 9 dots as 6 dots and counting 9 bamboo as 6 bamboo. nurbaya asking what the characters on the tiles were and goondu-ly revealing her tiles to us. chelsea segregating her tiles cos of her PATHETIC inability to see all her tiles together cos it confused her. baya AGAIN taking a BLATANT look at angela's tiles and flatly denying it. bryan short of tiles cos he ate the tile up. and yes, i got scolded cos i accidentally said the tile was a "cai" when it was actually a "fa". damn dumb.
wtf.
anyway, thanks sab for having us over even though we were such noisemakers!
but nonetheless, i enjoyed myself thoroughly even though i got lost at first. thanks sab for organising insane events like these. a pity jensen yap was confined in camp and xueying had to leave early. =( a sheer disappointment. on a elated note, met up with chongsiang & cindy. stay strong the both of you! =) we'll meet up soon at pearlene's house for stayover when i'm free and when siwee, aloysius & cheehowe books out.
take care ya'll.

it's one more day to the weekends. i kind of look forward to fridays cos it means i get precious time to catch up with sleep and friends. what's more, there's no band tomorrow. makes my week even better i must say.
today was valentine's day and i kind of enjoyed giving out the cards i made for friends. no doubt, it was rather subdued as compared to last year. but oh well, life has to go on. last year was more upbeat cos i had all my batchmates around, not forgetting the rather dismal cookie making session with melz and candice. at least i didn't go to school empty-handed this year. it's the thought that counts. =) i just hope my friends don't mind only a card this year.
highlights of 14 feb 2008:
had tennis again for PE which i must say is fun. unfortunately, jon isn't really the sports type if not it would have been a blast. i need to find a tennis partner to play weekly with me. i have a brand new tennis racquet that is still lying unwrapped in my cupboard which hasn't even been opened since my birthday 4 years ago. even after PE had ended, i joined benjamin, yeong chyun and jonathan for a game of volleyball. DAMN FUN! haha. despite the redness on my arm, i still enjoyed the game. more volleyball too.
chemistry test. let's just hope i get a decent pass grade. not going to aim too high cos of the last minute preparation. but nonetheless, i should be able to do some justice to the revision. alcohol, halogeno derivatives and arenes makes me darn confused.
so yes, i managed to pass many people their cards which i completed at 3am this morning. but there's still quite a lot to hand out tmr. sorry lydia for forgetting to write you your card. i'll pass it to you tmr. =) and thanks for passing pamela her present. hope she loves the gift. haha. didn't take any pictures today so there won't be any pictorial evidence to show.
a huge thank you to people for their chocolates, sweets, muffins, sushi (louis chia) and little pieces of messages. thanks ms ee.
did i mention... wii is uberly COOL! played it with my elder cousin's fiancee a few days ago. i have to go to my cousin's place again. it's extremely addictive! haha... tennis rocks my socks! i will pick up tennis when i have the time. it's a deal.
for now, i'll go enjoy the last few moments of valentine's day 2008.
i miss you babe!

i know i'm "dead" especially when i meet dr. s tmr for the return of the pride and prejudice test. the only thing i could remember during the test was the income of mr darcy. =( i need to get down to reading the text. i seriously need to and i will.
on a lighter note... hey druu, glad u're back in melbourne safe and sound. to tell you the truth, i was beginning to get worried abt whether the plane safely landed in melbourne or it was delayed. you know what i mean lah huh; with the constant threat of terrorism. anyway, please take care in melb. i'll reply ur email soon when i have the time. it's one of the higher priorities besides my studies. don't worry.
it's in a day's time but i haven't gotten ready for it... especially since my closest friends aren't around. i'll consider just a handful. probably a card or something.
Happy Belated 21st birthday Daryl Saw!

three days of CNY just went by so fast and i must say i have enjoyed the past three days. with all the time to catch up with cousins and the various relatives, to meeting up with my extremely important friends. i have only one thing to say... thank God for giving me such a wonderful time. =)
on the painful side, my back has been aching since day 1 so i'm taking the last day to relax before college starts again and i'll have no more free time to relax. if only more time was given to us to mingle with the relatives. haha. dai dee, mahjong etc. such activities should be carried out more often especially since cousins only meet up once a year.
and i learned that instead of saying "pass" to skip your turn whilst playing dai dee... you could say "wisp" which means wallow in self-pity. not bad huh. thanks to the nonsensical cousins of mine. and a shout out to aunt dolly for having me over to her place. wad a pity i had to leave earlier if not i would have gotten a chance to meet up with darcy and the other friends.
anyway, i'll let the pictures do the talking...

all grown up.

we seem to love the staircase after all these years

mark, grace & me

and how would new year be complete without a catch-up session with my dearest friends.
thanks a million.

almost time to go sleep and wake up to receive lots of relatives. *grins widely* i look forward to chinese new year every time cos of the time to meet long lost cousins and yea... the other reason, you know it. as for today... morning's concert was just average. the performances that were better consisted of callisto's fashion parade (recognition to all who played a part especially shane and yongwen), phobos skit and indian cultural society's dance. it could have been better though.
just had my 2nd reunion dinner with my maternal relatives. so glad there is chinese new year especially with all the catching-up to do over the next few days and the amount of food to consume. had abalone, giam chai soup with luo ark (duck) and lots of other food. sinful pleasures. haha.
the best part of the day was during the afternoon where i spent my time having a reunion lunch with nurbs and zhenghong. haha. it was awesome just hanging out doing nothing, watching the world go by. thanks to the both of you for being such fantastic friends. God bless!

two extremely seductive beings.

my all time favourite picture!
Happy Chinese New Year of the Rat!

finally... my day is over. imagine stoning through most of the lessons without any thing going into your brain. damn unproductive. it's the CNY mood. definitely. on the one hand, i'm guilty for not absorbing any knowledge today. on the other hand, i think stoning is quite fun. you just sit there, show a stoic blank face and pretend to absorb wadever the tutors say. oh well... it was a bad day overall especially with the pride and prejudice test. i don't even want to get back the quiz. it's damn horrible.
and i think my nose is warped. was in the chemistry lab with kelvin and mr lau and was constantly sniffing in ethanoic acid (not my fault! mr lau was doing titration so the concentrated acid was so pungent!). even though i'm home now, i keep getting sniffs of ethanoic acid. arrrggg... damn sick. i'm still clueless over alcohol and i think i'm the only one in my class who is. the rest of them seem so good at it. bah... O-H.
i should go rest and then read my pride and prejudice.
ciao.

i have a question.
do people ever think before they actually speak or do words just come out from that crap thing called a mouth? i think for some, it's the latter especially when they have a cowdung for a brain.

it's back to school for three more days before a long weekend. i'm kind of looking forward to the coming days except for tmr cos there's PE again. but with the chinese new year here, it means my closer guy friends like ken and darren are also gg into army soon. and signifies a shorter time to block test, mid years, prelims and the A levels. oh well.
sermon today by brother wan was just that. nowadays the messages seem to revolve around the end time and when God will return. in some way, i'm fearful cos i'm still not ready but at the same time... i'm wondering when will the rapture come and who will go first? i'm afraid i will remain behind. and he said the anti-christ is rising fast so we as christians, have to stay strong in the Lord and constantly be on our guard.
so yep... we'll do just that. =)

reunion dinner with my cousins rock.

oooooooohhhhhh... i like.

it's 5 days to chinese new year and it is turning out to be rather... quiet. cos my grandparents are all in heaven... so there will be no more people to fuss over me and for my family to make a special visit to. secondly, a lot of my church friends will be going overseas for a short holiday during the long break. even sylvianne is also going to america. i'm so jealous. thirdly, my dear grandaunt is suffering from cancer. that makes it even worse cos we can't go to her place like the past 18 years of my life where it was a tradition to go down on the 2nd day. just hope she gets better...
had reunion dinner with my dad's side just now. cousins all came except for jeremy tan who went to church. it was great sitting together and eating all the food that was bought or made by my mum. a reminder NOT TO EAT TOO MUCH during this period of time. i don't want to end up looking like my older brother.
anyway, there's tons of work to be done before chinese new year begins. i shall not even list it out. i get so worked up just looking at my table full of work.
so yes...
Happy Birthday Adrian, Weiming and Huiying.
